Engolpion (from Greek ëncolpion"meaning ön the chest") is a menallion with an icon in the centre worn around the neck by Orthodo high clergy as a distinctive sign. In most cases they come in an oval or circle shape. The icons on them usually depict the Blessed Virgin Mary, St George or St Demetrius on horseback, St Constantine and St Helena, At Athanasius of Athos, etc, as well as feast scenes.
